A sacrament is a visible sign of an invisible reality that gives grace. In marriage, the visible sign is the love that a husband and wife have for each other. The invisible reality to which they point is the love that Jesus has for his bride, the Church. In the Sacrament of Marriage, God gives grace, that is to say, supernatural power, to make His own love, mercy, generosity, kindness, and compassion tangible.
Congratulations on your engagement to all those who are seeking the Sacrament of Matrimony. Preparation takes some time, which is necessary to ensure that the couple is ready for the challenges that life can sometimes bring to a married couple.
The program "7 Steps to a Rewarding Marriage Preparation Experience" is the program that the diocese prescribes for all couples who are preparing to receive the sacrament.
You must begin the process by contacting the parish at least six months prior to your wedding, or earlier is preferred especially if you are seeking a specific date. No dates are official until the first meeting paperwork is completed showing there are no issues that need to be addressed before a wedding can take place.
Contact Fr. Jim Leeser at 608-453-5735 at least six months prior first before securing your reception location. We do have other events that take place at the parish. The church may not be available on your first choice day or the day that you have booked previously for your reception. Suggested stole fee for marriages - $100.
